How can I help you?

I specialize in working with adults struggling with anxiety and some of the common co-occurring issues that can exist alongside those intense feelings of overwhelm.

I focus on helping those who tend to put their own needs on the back burner.  Self-neglect, over-responsibility, no boundaries, always saying "yes", unable to relax, feeling tense or sick to your stomach - if any of that sounds familiar, you've come to the right place.

I will always cater to your individual needs and consider myself an "eclectic" therapist with a quirky side! I often use the following modalities when working with clients:

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (the fancy name for "shifting mindset" and "identifying common thought distortions that cause us a whole lot of pain")

Somatic Therapy (the fancy name for understanding how trauma can impact us on a mind/body level - and how getting back into our bodies (and out of our heads for a bit) can be a powerful way of healing)

Internal Family Systems (the fancy name for saying we're going to get in there and figure out why we think, feel and behave in certain ways based on the things we've experienced in life - IFS seeks to put you back in the drivers seat of your life!)

Attachment Theory (the fancy name for connecting early childhood experiences with current behavioral and thought patterns, especially in relationships)

Solution Focused (this one is exactly how it sounds - we collaborate to help you set attainable changes to get the results you are seeking)

Jungian Shadow Work (the fancy way of saying we are going to try to uncover the things we try really hard to push away or feel ashamed of- that stuff becomes toxic to us and like Hagrid says in Harry Potter "Better out than in.")

I am also a therapist who is.....

  • LGBTQ+ Allied

  • Sex Positive - Meaning - there is no judgement and yes, you can absolutely talk about anything related to sex in this space

  • Body Neutral/Fat Positive/Anti-Diet/Recovery Focused but sensitive and open to working with individuals who are seeking changes in their bodies in healthy ways

  • Culturally Sensitive

  • Teachable and willing to acknowledge that I don't know everything - I always welcome speaking up if something doesn't resonate with you in our sessions!

  • Secular but open to all beliefs - if you are searching specifically for a Christian Counselor, I have some wonderful colleagues who I can refer to! Please ask!
